Two new models in the EFR2 range of OPTIMA earth fault protection relays giving latched capability.

The EFR2-L gives non-fail safe latched protection where reset is required without voltage supply to the relay. With volt loss to the unit the relay does not trip.

With Earth fault detection above the preset levels of current and time, the relay will trip into a latched condition, also latching LED or lamp indication of the trip. if voltage is removed from the relay, the latched trip remains but for a period of up to 6 hours the relay can be reset without the need for voltage supply.

If a trip occurs and voltage is removed from the unit for a longer period than 6 hours. Returning the voltage supply, the fault indication comes on showing an Earth fault has occurred, if the supply remains on for more than 10 seconds, the system charges its internal supply, so enabling removal of supply, opening the door and resetting the relay without voltage on the unit.
